Becoming a vocational trainer

Requirements and necessary qualifications

Vocational trainers pass on their expertise and passion for their profession directly to the next generation. They provide practical and theoretical training to young people and prepare them for their professional future. The path to becoming a vocational trainer requires specialist and pedagogical skills.

Specialist requirements:

  • Federal certificate of proficiency in the profession in which you wish to train or a comparable qualification
  • At least two years of professional experience in the profession in which you wish to train

Educational qualification:

  • Course certificate for the 40-hour course or a federally recognised diploma for vocational trainers in host companies (100 hours of study)

Please note: For certain professions, additional requirements are specified in the education ordinances.
