Course for vocational trainers (40 hours)

The cantons are responsible for the training of vocational trainers (Art. 45 VPETA ). Pursuant to Art. 44 VPETA , the 100 hours of study vocational trainers are expected to complete in host companies in order to obtain the vocational education qualification can be replaced by 40 hours of instruction. This training path leads to a cantonal, federally recognised course certificate.

The “Framework Curriculum for VET trainers” published by SERI does not define the content of these 40 hours of instruction. For this reason, the cantons have formulated a curriculum that has been approved by the Swiss Conference of Vocational Education and Training Offices (SBBK).

The structure and terminology (educational objectives, content, standards) were adopted as a common basis from the “Framework Curriculum for VET trainers”. The form and design of the courses are a matter for the individual cantons and may vary.
