Official documents and diplomas

The vocational school issues an ID card for apprentices, which confirms that they are in vocational education and training. This card can be used to claim discounts (e.g. on public transport, in cinemas, museums and when shopping).

Ordering
Cantonal vocational education and training offices and accredited institutions are requested to use the order form. The SDBB (Vocational Education and Training Media Office) reserves the right to clarify the identity of the person ordering who are not yet known.

Vocational schools that produce the ID themselves in credit card format can seek the support of the SDBB.

Vocational trainers in host companies receive a cantonal, federally recognised course certificate after completing the KBB vocational trainer course (40 course hours). This federally recognised diploma is awarded to vocational trainers in host companies BBB upon completion of their training (100 hours of study).

Ordering
The course certificates (40 hours) and diplomas (100 hours) can be obtained free of charge from the cantons and accredited course providers. A fee will be charged for postage and packaging. Orders with the SDBB are made via the contact person designated by the cantonal vocational training office or by course providers accredited by the vocational education and training office. In the latter case, the SDBB must be informed about the accredited course providers by the responsible cantonal vocational education and training office.

Template for course certificate for integration into an e-learning tool

Accredited course providers can order a digital version (fill-in form) of the course certificate by email free of charge. The main purpose of this version is to generate electronic course certificates in an e-learning tool.

Basic vocational education and training certificates (VET Certificate, VET Diploma, Vocational Baccalaureate) are available in all four national languages and are binding throughout Switzerland. They are regarded as official documents that certify successful qualification in a specific profession.

Ordering
The SDBB’s Vocational Education and Training Media Office informs the contact person designated by the cantonal vocational education and training office about products, services and order processing. Orders placed with the SDBB are made via the designated contact person for each canton.

Learning performance certificate
In the same way as the grade certificate, the learning performance certificate is intended to show participants and employers how the final result of the validation procedure was achieved in relation to the qualification profile.
