Visits to the host company
Supervision of the VET programme also includes verifying the quality of apprenticeship training. As a consequence, the cantonal authority – its VET counsellors, occupational commissioners and apprenticeship inspectors (or also the members of the supervisory commissions) – organises a visit to the host company to ensure that apprenticeship training at the workplace is given in accordance with the regulations. The cantonal authorities also send an inspector to the host company when it submits an application for VET accreditation for the first time.
The persons who are designated by the cantonal authority have access to the work premises and to the apprentices' accommodation. They are entitled to question the interested parties and may consult the training reports and training logbook.
The cantonal authority also organises a visit when a company requests VET accreditation in order to take on apprentices.
