Conflicts

If difficulties or differences of opinion arise within the host company in relation to the apprenticeship contract, it is essential to organise a meeting between the interested parties to discuss the matter. The outcome of the meetings should be recorded in writing. Written evidence always carries greater weight than words and it is also of particular help in making decisions.

If the differences or disputes cannot be resolved, the matter shall be referred to the VET office; its role is to advise the parties and attempt mediation.

It is up to the cantonal courts and tribunals (employment tribunal and criminal courts) to settle disputes that relate to apprenticeship or employment contracts.
