Remedial courses
For young people who have difficulties making progress in VET programmes, VET schools offer the possibility of attending remedial courses to improve their knowledge of mandatory subjects. These remedial courses last for a limited period of time and are intended to help young people to fill observed gaps in knowledge and skills. Attendance of such courses should not exceed half a day per week. It is not generally possible to attend remedial courses and optional courses at the same time.
Attendance of these courses is decided in agreement with the host company and VET school. In the event of a disagreement, it is the cantonal authority that decides.
Insofar as remedial courses are given during working hours, attendance of such courses (up to half a day per week) does not lead to a reduction in salary.
