Skills testing

Skills tests are among the methods used by host companies to select learners. They are prepared and offered by companies, trade associations, professional organisations or individuals. Skills tests can help companies to confirm their choice but they should first obtain further information from their trade association. Is the use of skills tests recommended? If so, which tests are appropriate for the occupation in question? There are also skills tests on the market that have been designed for specific branches or on the contrary that can be applied to all sectors of activity. The results constitute snapshots that reflect knowledge and thus only have relative predictive value in the overall assessment of candidates.
