Piecework carried out by learners

In accordance with Youth Employment Protection Ordinance (EmpO 5, SR 822.115), it is forbidden to employ young people under the age of 18 to do dangerous work. The definition of this work is laid down in the EAER Ordinance of 4 December 2007 on Hazardous Work for Young People (SR 822.115.2); piecework is part of this list.

In occupations with exceptions within the meaning of Art. 4 para 4 EmpO5, learners may carry out hazardous work if such exceptions are set forth in the VET ordinance for the given occupation and if special accompanying measures have been established in the training plan in Annex 2.
