Intercantonal specialised courses
The inter-cantonal specialised courses are a particular type of instruction in VET programmes. It is mostly seasonal companies (hotel, catering and ski lifts) that opt for this option. Classroom instruction is given in the form of block courses when the host companies are closed.
SERI may approve inter-cantonal specialised courses after receiving a proposal from a professional organisation, which must prove that such a measure is adapted to the intended goal and that it encourages the availability of host companies. In addition, the inter-cantonal specialised courses must not generate excessive additional costs or be significantly detrimental for participants.
The structure and funding of inter-cantonal specialised courses are set forth in a services contract to be signed by the service providers and the cantons, which are represented by the Swiss Conference of VET Offices (SBBK).
