Continuation to the following year
The word “continuation” generally refers to the compulsory step of being able to continue studying in a school or a given VET programme. Legislation on vocational and professional education and training does not include provisions concerning the continuation of studies from one year to the next within the scope of VET programmes offered at VET schools. On the other hand, conditions on continuation apply in schools that prepare learners for the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate (FVB) examination as well as in most higher-level schools.
The Federal Vocational and Professional Education and Training Act (VPETA, SR 412.10) stipulates that VET ordinances may provide for procedures to continue from one year to the next.
