Notice of termination

Apprenticeship contracts are fixed-term employment contracts. Unlike other fixed-term employment contracts, apprenticeship contracts do not provide for a termination clause. The notice of termination can only be given during the trial period. During the said period, either party may terminate the contract with seven days’ notice. The cantonal authority must be informed thereof immediately in writing. After the trial period, the contract may only be terminated on reasonable grounds or by the mutual consent of both parties.
